Alexei Popyrin exudes confidence ahead of US Open having made big breakthrough | Simon Cambers

Alexei Popyrin is slated to meet Novak Djokovic in the third round of the US Open but is focusing only on his next match.

It is seven years since Popyrin won the junior title at the French Open, the first Australian to win at Roland Garros in 45 years. That foundation served him well as he made his way on the Tour but for a long time, he found it hard to break through, especially at the biggest events. He has lost in a fifth set seven times at grand slams and he has yet to reach the fourth round.
