Ask pretty much any health professional, and they’ll tell you the same thing: The best snacks are the ones we prepare at home from whole foods. Cut up some carrots and cucumbers. Slice an apple. Send your kid to school with fresh mozzarella balls. Yes, we know the advice. We try to follow it, we really do. But which one of us hasn’t unzipped a lunch bag to find those lovingly prepared crudités and fresh fruits—occasionally artfully arranged per influencer instructions—reduced to a slimy, beige, garbage-ready clump?
