Throughout the 2016 campaign, Democrats sought to tie President Trump to President Vladimir Putin of Russia, claiming that Russia wanted Trump to prevail. These sore losers continued to peddle this nonsense throughout the first Trump presidency, leading to the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller and the devastation of the lives of many Trump officials.
