A year and a half later she is taking us back to that time in an autobiographical new film, fittingly titled The Moment, which will debut at the Sundance Film Festival later this month. While most pop stars settle for a tour documentary, Charli’s approach is characteristically postmodern: a lightly fictionalised retelling of brat summer. It’s part mockumentary, part music industry satire, directed by in-demand photographer Aidan Zamiri and based on a “word vomit” text Charli sent him in the midst of her 2024 tour.
