The US stock and bond markets were closed yesterday, but the dollar weakened, gold rose and in Europe stocks with significant US exposure (LVMH, SAP, ASML, Novo Nordisk, Airbus, BMW) were down 3 to 4 per cent. US stock futures were soft last night. What the US Treasury market does today will be telling; a steeper curve would make sense, but who knows.
