A swing back to humanoid helpers is under way. Some recent indicators: Stephen Witt, author of The Thinking Machine, a biography of Jensen Huang and Nvidia — winner of the 2025 FT/Schroders Business Book of the Year prize — said in his speech at the awards ceremony: “What does the future hold for Nvidia? I think robots are coming.” And FT Alphaville’s Louis Ashworth has written about a new Barclays report, carrying lots of detail and predictions about automated workers. The report states: “Unlike humans, a humanoid can run almost 24/7, with only short breaks for battery charging.” Too scary 😦? My colleague Sarah O’Connor has a less robo-centric view.
