And the best souvenirs I’ve brought home are little stone fragments from Phylakopi, a Bronze Age settlement that we visited on the island of Milos, Greece, on a sailing trip last spring. Milos was the home of the Venus de Milo, which the French brought home with them in the 1820s. I’m very much into sailing, it’s so uplifting… the relationship of water, light and movement. Oh, and also – pistachios!
