Recent recordings of her music, however, have appeared in a more low-key fashion: in digital-only editions. But these are worth seeking out. That’s partly because they are performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel. But it’s also because Ortiz’s best pieces balance the florid and the finely etched. As with “Altar de Cuerda,” a prior concerto for these players and the violinist María Dueñas, “Dzonot,” included on this orchestra’s portrait album “Yanga,” is likely to turn heads on any program.
