The question of Charli’s desires snakes through “The Moment,” fueling its modest laughs and wee drama. Along the way, the movie glances at familiar artistic concerns like autonomy, integrity and authenticity all while gleefully testing the divide between a public and a private self. To that end, some of the cast play themselves (or versions thereof), including celebs like Kylie Jenner and Julia Fox. The heavier lifting in terms of the performances is by Rosanna Arquette, Jamie Demetriou and Hailey Benton Gates as colleagues, some more caring than others. At one point, the invaluable Alexander Skarsgard also pops up as an insufferable filmmaker, proving yet again that this actor has cornered the market on playing jerks.
