This past September, roughly a year after debuting early versions of the pieces at an exhibition in Paris titled “A Well-Dressed Apartment,” the French artist-designer Sarah Espeute launched a collection of garmentlike curtains through her Marseilles-based studio and workshop Oeuvres Sensibles. Among the offerings were oversize button-ups, a kimono and even a pair of trousers patched with fabric scraps. “I love the illusion,” says Espeute, 34, who’s also known for her tablecloths with embroidery showing the outline of plates and glasses and such, which gives the sense that there’s another dinner party happening simultaneously. “It lets you escape into something and tell a story with a touch of humor, and in a different context.” From about $357, oeuvres-sensibles.com.
