“Writing by hand is an intimate and deliberate choice,” she said, adding that putting pen to paper offers an opportunity for self-discovery, and that when you’re writing to a specific person and focusing on positive things like “love, fondness or affection, that act can flood our brains with feel-good neurotransmitters and activates our sense of connection, empathy and gratitude.”
