Off and on the runways, knitwear was a focal point. At the Zankov show, models wore stacked sweaters of different sleeve lengths and, like many people in the crowds, sweaters tied around the waist. That styling evoked attire on the runways at Tory Burch and Ralph Lauren, where belts were used to alter the silhouettes of dresses and skirts. The cinched look also appeared on the runway at Calvin Klein, in the form of a particularly sumptuous overcoat — the kind that would make heads turn on the street.
