In his absence, Morwen is calling the shots. She is characterized by a puckering menace that is almost comical, but her disposition is all we have to explain how she is a coldblooded killer, murdering visitors to steal from them in desperate times. When Anne comes upon her childhood friend Jago (Kit Harington), she learns that her absent husband has died under mysterious circumstances. Now a widow, she and Jago begin to cozy up, to the chagrin of Morwen.
