I encounter the same logic from the other side of the system. In my clinical practice, prospective patients regularly call seeking accommodation letters before we ever meet. Some are explicit about the language they want included. Others ask if documentation is even necessary. I explain that accommodations, when appropriate, follow evaluation, not the other way around.
